The tragic events of last Friday (all of them) put me in mind of a few things and I decided to make a little video for you. NO idea how long this will last what with me borrowing a film clip—for educational purposes—so watch it while you can!

Have friend you've been trying to explain CraftLit to? This may be a decent introduction to what we do every week. Feel free to share!

BONUS--Tis the Season!

Dickens of a ChistmasI added some audio to the Dickens of a Christmas Blog Hop a couple of years ago. Those general podcasts are linked to below via their shownotes.

There are video versions (where you can see the artwork from the original Dickens) and audio-only versions as well on those pages.

If you've never heard the original story it's not long and well worth a listen. Much of it is familiar from the movies and plays, but the bits that don't often get done are lovely, too.

Just more bookish than theatrical.

Enjoy--and have a Very Very Merry Christmas!

Bleak Sneak Peek

Just in case you wondered what the heck was up with Bleak House on the subscriber feed (and why ANYone would want to listen to something called Bleak anything) I thought you might enjoy a sneak peek. (Details on Streaming Subscriber option; details on Download-only Subscriber option)

This is a sneak peek of chapter 1.

And in case you were wondering what the EeBooks are, this is a link to the start of the Enhanced eBook of Bleak House Chapter 1 as a ClassLit-BleakHouse PDF. We're still working on getting an ePub for iOS version and a Kindle version (formatting for these platforms is REALLY weird and wonky—but we're close). The EeBooks link out to the CraftLit and JtB audio as well as helpful contextual links from the book text itself.

Direct icon-links go to the CraftLit and
Just the Books mp3 audio which covers the indicated chapter

Still a few spaces left for Hanging Out online in a face-to-face book group chat about Jane Eyre! 8:30am EDT, 1:30pm EDT, and 9:30pm EDT are the times on Wednesday June 5 (which gets almost every timezone at something like a convenient hour).

Some good blogs to check out (from SOAR attendees: Rachael Herron, Janine Bajus, and Brooke Sinnes, oh, and Stephanie...I think you know her); a really cool listener's site (Spinneret) regarding My Friend Irving; some pics (scroll down) and some detritus that I need to get out to you (below).

A good Challah recipe. Heal the world through cooling!
and a nice Jewish crafting guild (just in cast you thought they didn't exist!)...

The Red Thread Project! How cool is this!

And some stuff I found but didn't have time to talk about b/c I blathered too much: The sounds of (good) music can be found at NPR

In need of Knickers?
Check this out?

Hook up with next year's mystery stole (number three).

Awesome matress stitch (plus!) tutorial. Which I needed.
